about
From Natalie:
Lang Freeman and I were commissioned to write a track with an emphasis on "dashing through the snow," an upbeat feel, and without actually mentioning any specific holiday. Lang and I are both deep feeling, emo singer-songwriters, so we dug deep in our own stories to pull out holiday themes and meet the need of the song. We landed with an indie-pop tune that will definitely get you in the spirit of the holiday season.
lyrics
Eleven days and seven hours to go,
'Til I’m driving and I’m on my way home,
I missed last year, they won’t let me forget
All the gifts that I still need to get
Now I'm…
Dashing through the snow, where children laugh and play,
It’s a winter wonderland, in a one horse open sleigh, we’re singing...
Ohhhhh
We’re in the kitchen, mom's making a pie,
While my brothers keep spying on the
the gift wrap station in my parents bedroom,
We all want to eat, but it’s too soon,
So we’re dashing through the snow, where the children laugh and play, we’re singing...
Ohhhhh
The kids table is a mile long, so I
Grab some pie before it’s all gone,
Uncle Eddie singing “Silent Night,” is
The soundtrack to “It’s a Wonderful Life.”
The fireplace still burning bright,
Yuletide carols by candlelight,
The kids are nestled snug in their beds
Visions of snowmen dancing in their heads.
